The nominations have been released for the $2 million Doncaster Handicap, which is scheduled to run at Randwick racecourse on Saturday April 21, 2012.

197 horses have been nominated for the race, which will take place over 1,600 metres and under handicap conditions.

Included in the 2012 Doncaster Handicap nominations is Descarado, who is trained by Gai Waterhouse.

Descarado won the Group 1 Caulfield Stakes last start following a disappointing performance in the Group 2 Shannon Stakes, where he finished ninth.

The five-year-old gelding has won five of his 21 race starts and has earned close to $2.5 million in prize money.

Also included in the 2012 Doncaster Handicap nominations is Grahame Begg’s Ilovethiscity.

Ilovethiscity finished a close second in his last start in the Group 1 George Main Stakes during the spring and is looking for a well-deserved win in the 2012 Doncaster Handicap.

The four-year-old has won four of his 16 race starts and has earned close to $900,000 in prize money.
